Topic: Feature Requests / Format of email reminder

Hi – you’ve improved the email reminders so that they have more information in them – thank you! It’s great to use a product where the developers are so responsive to customer feedback.

I have one enhancement to request, though. You now have ‘Attached to’ and the name of the contact for each to do. Could the name of the contact be a link to their record, so that I have easy access? (I know—lazy! But very busy, and I’m more likely to jump on things if they’re easy.)

Topic: Feature Requests / To-dos - Grouping & Tags

Hello and glad to hear you are enjoying BatchBook. We appreciate the feedback.

I am pretty sure our UI man on the spot Adam has been thinking abut tagging todos. I know we were talking about it and I bet he will chime him with a definitive answer in the morning to see what we can do with your request. Some better filtering options would be nice to have.

Hey guys… like the look of the new layout. Noticing that phone number formatting is not working for numbers entered as 2125551234.

Topic: Contacts / Card Hover Issue

Ok hover issue is fixed. We lost a patch I had made to get hover cards working when I upgraded our javascript files. Thanks again for the heads up.

Topic: Contacts / Card Hover Issue

Hey it does. Must have been the jscript upgrades. Will get that ironed out tonight.

Here are some of the bigger changes:

- contact detail redesign – super tags edit all in one shot – you can now relabel locations – cleaned up display, We recovered a lot of real estate with the redesign.
- todos have dates attached. Lots of people including ourselves wanted this. Makes the ical feed a lot more useful.
- you can reorder super tags fields with drag and drop. Another heavily requested feature.
- lots of polish here and there More ajax indicators and better form handling all around.

Now it is time for the revamped lists and super tag search project for next week.

I’m noticing that the hover card seems to disappear rather quickly since tonight’s update.

I’m liking what I see of the contact page redesign so far. What else did you change?

Topic: Feature Requests / To-dos - Grouping & Tags

As a two-day user of BatchBook – love it- moved from using Zoho CRM and HighRise for two diff businesses. There is something to be said for keeping it simple! Keep up the good work.

I had two feature requests

  1. Tags for to-dos Being able to tag to-dos; [cool feature I have used in Remember The Milk], allows me to tag & look up stuff such as [stationary store], [cold calls], [bank]. [weekly] so my activities can be planned by the To-do’s we already have in Batch Book
  2. Groups for to-dos Typically when I make a cold call, [or even a warm one] walk through a series of steps and each of these steps will have a number of to-dos associated with them. I am not really looking for project management :-) but for lumping a series of to-dos with a heading/group name. Of course tagging them all with the same custom tag, is a way to workaround this.

Thanks

Topic: Feature Requests / New Contact from the Company record

We do have something cool up our sleeves for tonight… but I think you may be able to do what you’re looking for already.

If you store work information in the company record, it shares it across all employees. So, when you add someone to the “Personnel” section of the company detail, that new individual will automatically get the work info from the company.

So, anytime we add a new employee to BatchBlue’s contact record, (s)he automatically gets the web site, main phone line, fax number, etc. that we store in our company record.

Is there any way you can create a button to create a new contact from the company record, pre-filling the company info.

Topic: Feature Requests / full import / export

Hi Adam:

re tag export: yes, but you cannot export non-super tags and – for now – you have to check that all tagdata is to be exported

re on-click solution for comms: good!

historic: well, it would be nice if this could be combined with the other request: email non-email comms. But currently I’m looking at emails – but I would love to see that the original timestamps are kept – see also the other msg about this.

Topic: Feature Requests / full import / export

Hi Hans:

SuperTags and SuperTag data can already be easily imported and exported. Just build a list from all contacts and turn on all the SuperTag data options in the “Add Data” box.

While Communications and attachments CAN be retrieved from BatchBook, we’re working on on-click solutions for each so that it’s as easy as exporting contacts. Thanks for letting us know this is desired.

Historic comms—I’m not sure beyond forwarding individual emails into BatchBook via BatchBox. Are these emails you’re looking to get in or other types of comms?

Topic: Feature Requests / full import / export

Hi, I would very much appreciate it if I could easily export all data I have in Batchbook (csv files, xml files, zip with attachments) – including all (super)tags and other meta data.

Also, I’m looking at loading historic comms into batchbook. Is this already on the drawing board? I don’t mind if I need to digg into some api in progress

Disappearing contacts is also happening here when doing live search. Seems that the serach is looking for at least 3 letters or so, and one having only 2 nothing is displayed.

nope, it’s all good. I didn’t take it as flippant at all.

It’s such a minor issue, I appreciate that you even consider this worthy of thought.

Hope I was not sounding flippant and this is an interesting UI thing you never think about. We allow one to set a default country. Sounds like a default state would help this as well and then for the most part you can just tab through the field.

hmm, perhaps that move to Colorado we’ve been dreaming about is in order.

I realize this is a little thing, but it’s one of those things that just doesn’t work as expected. I’ll see if I can get into the IL habit though…

Thanks

Well you could move to Indiana…ah wait that would not help. You like Michigan :)

I know you probably got a habit of doing the double I thing but hitting IL in quick succession on FF will get you there.

I am totally working all this stuff as we speak though and will see what I can do with that….

It’s pretty much a standard on most forms that to choose the state of Illinois I just press “I” 2 times to get past Idaho and on to Illinois. On yours the inclusion of International makes things different and really throws me off.

I know it’s not a huge issue, and you can tell me to just bug off and live with it, but is there a chance that when I have US as my default country that International could be listed after the other states?

The majority of my clients are in Illinois so this seems to affect me just about every time I enter in a new contact.

Topic: Feature Requests / Next/previous

Hello Hans,

Just wanted to let you know this is live now on contact detail. Look above the contact image and you will see prev/next links. These work according to your saved browse preferences. So just set you tag search filter to batchbox and then when you are on a contact detail the prev/next buttons will loop you through that list of contacts.
